'Did Jaitley Organize Daughter's Marriage with only 2.5 lakh?'

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday took severe potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the demonetization.

Addressing a rally in New Delhi, the AAP chief made sarcastic comments against the latest announcement of the Center to provide new currency to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakh to the people who show proofs of already scheduled weddings in their families.

Kejriwal took a dig at FM Jaitley and wondered if he had spent only Rs 2.5 lakh for his daughter's wedding, which took place recently. He also cited the example of former Karnataka BJP Minister Janardana Reddy who has allegedly spent Rs 500 crore for his daughter's wedding.

'These BJP leaders spend in hundreds of crores for the weddings in their families and they ask common man to spend only Rs 2.5 lakh for the same. Most appallingly, they try to fool people by calling it patriotism. Demonetization is being carried out only to compensate the lakhs of crores of loan taken by Modi's corporate friends with public money' Kejriwal jibed.

The Delhi Chief Minister also alleged that demonetization was the biggest scam in the history of Independent India. 'The government must roll back this corrupt exercise within three days,' Kejriwal demanded.
