Ex Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been admitted to AIIMS hospital in Delhi. He has complained of chest pain on Sunday night and he was rushed to the hospital. He was taken straight to the cardio-thoracic ward of AIIMS at around 8.45 PM today. He is undergoing various tests as a team of doctors are observing him. Manmohan Singh is being treated by Dr Nitish Naik, a professor of cardiology.

87-year-old veteran politician from Congress party, who had also served as Union Finance Minister, is not in the Intensive Care Unit. Currently a Rajya Sabha MP, Manmohan Singh had underwent heart bypass surgery at AIIMS in 2009. He is also a diabetic patient. His health is not well for a while. He had suffered a fall in March before parliament was adjourned due to Corona Virus pandemic. Doctors had advised him complete bedrest.

However, earlier this week, Manmohan Singh participated in a video conference of the Congress party with party supremo Sonia Gandhi, CM of Congress-ruled states and questioned the Modi-led government over its decision-making during lockdown. “We need to know, as Soniaji said, what will happen after lockdown 3.0,” Manmohan Singh, who spoke after Sonia Gandhi, had said in the video conference.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his concern over Dr Manmohan Singh’s health. He tweeted, “Much worried to know former PM Dr Manmohan Singhji has been admitted to AIIMS. I wish him speedy recovery and pray for his good health and long life”.
