Rajamouli Is Slow But Krish Is Not

Historic films are not easy to be made on the big screen. Even though we have a lot of manpower on the film’s sets these days, the amount of hard work that goes into making a historic film is unimaginable. From research and development of the script to the post-production, a lot of elements come into consideration. Despite that, there are a few filmmakers who display extraordinary skill in bringing these films to life. Krish Jagarlamudi and Rajamouli are two directors in Telugu who love the genre. However, there is a complaint on both the directors that Krish is fast in bringing these films to life while Rajamouli takes years to execute the same.

Rajamouli does face this complaint even for his other movies. People look at him as a perfectionist who does everything with proper planning. Be it Yamadonga, or Eega, or Baahubali, or the ongoing RRR, the approach of Rajamouli is the same. Until he is not sure on paper, he will not begin the shoot. Not just him, he wants his entire team to be on the same page with regards to what is being made.

On the other hand, the approach of Krish is different. Krish earlier made Kanche, Gautamiputra Satakarni, NTR biopic and Manikarnika. Krish is a director who is fast in planning and also has a backup plan for every hurdle that he might face in the process of making a film. He just has clarity on what he wants and communicates the same with his team. He makes sure to get his vision right on the big screen.

Currently, Krish is busy with Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Krish began the film last year but the lockdown disrupted the shoot plans. Krish announced that the film releases in Sankranthi next year. Not much has been shot so far but the director is confident in finishing up the key portions of the movie in less than a year.

On the other hand, Rajamouli also picked pace, after the lockdown in finishing RRR on time and release it in October this year.

Both Rajamouli and Krish have different approaches in making historic films that they feel comfortable with. Success-wise, both have equal reception from the audiences but Rajamouli’s films do a bit more than Krish’s at the box-office.
