Bhuma Akhila Priya, who is serving as the Tourism & culture minister in Andhra Pradesh Government, seems to be garnering a negative image in her Assembly constituency, Allagadda in Kurnool. Sources say that Akhila Priya has not been available for the people in the constituency.
Even as tourism minister, Chandrababu Naidu is unhappy with her, say party sources. There were several occasions where Naidu had to be strict with her during tourism review meetings. "Sometimes, she is not in sync with the department. She prepares her own presentations and the department have their own. During the meeting, the CM often gets annoyed with her lack of coordination," said a source in the government.
Even an internal survey held by TDP indicated that Akhila Priya ranks was among the lowest rung leaders. Sources in the party say that even the constituency people are unhappy with the young minister. Apparently, after her wedding recently, political circles are rife with rumours that Akhila's younger sister, Mounika, has been calling the shots in the constituency. With such negative image building around Akhila Priya's candidature, it looks like she will have to work hard to secure her place in the constituency and the Cabinet.
