As the 2019 election scenario is opening up new possibilities, it is evident that caretaker CM of Telangana K. Chandrasekhara Rao is visibly upset with TDP joining the Mahakootami in Telangana. This is reflected in KCR's charged allegations and name-calling directed towards AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
While Chandrababu Naidu has clarified that he will not make personal allegations against anyone, sources say that he has a bigger political strategy in mind. As KCR is increasingly reflecting a pro-BJP sentiment, Chandrababu has decided to portray TRS as an ally of the BJP.
While Chandrababu is already involved in forming an alternative against the BJP at the National level with Trinamool Congress, BSP, SP and others, it looks like Naidu is now drumming up support at the Centre to create a perspective that BJP is anti-South and KCR is supporting such a party that is working against the interests of Southern States.
Political observers point to the fact that Chandrababu already has people's sympathy as he is seen as a hardworking CM despite Centre's apathy. The AP Chief Minister might use this sympathy to create a perception that BJP is heading this game plan against Andhra Pradesh. It is also indicative that KCR could have an internal understanding with YSRCP, BJP and Jana Sena in Andhra Pradesh to give a fought fight to TDP and fight against Chandrababu Naidu.
