Former speaker of United Andhra Pradesh and Congress senior leader in AP, Nadendla Manohar, has tendered his resignation to the Congress in Andhra Pradesh. Manohar is all set to join Pawan Kalyan's Janasena and saod to have got Pawan's nod. As per media reports, Manohar would join Janasena on Friday in Tirupati in the presence of Pawan himself. He is likely to contest from Tenali Assembly from Janasena.
Nadendla Manohar's decision to quit Congress now and join PK's Janasena has become talking point in political circles. Manohar, who hadn't quit Congress even when the anti-Congress wave was riding high in 2014 after the state's unilateral bifurcation, has now quit the party. This is raising many eyeballs.
After party president Rahul Gandhi and party's highest-decision board Congress' Working Committee (CWC) decided in favour of Special Category Status to AP and BJP's failure in fulfilling promises, there seems to be mild improvement for Congress in AP and decrease in the hatred against the party in the new state. Yet, Manohar's resignation for political reasons now is drawing mixed response from several quarters.
