The Best Film nominees are The Father, Judas and The Black Messiah, Mank, Minari, Nomadland, Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal and Trial of Chicago 7. Korean actor Steven Yeun created history by becoming the first Asian American to be nominated in the Best Actor category.
The late actor Chadwick Boseman got a posthumous nomination for the Best Actor Award, for the film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Viola Davis, who was nominated for the Best Actress Award, for the film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, created history by becoming the only Black Actress to receive the most number of Oscars nominations. She received four acting nominations in total. Two of them were for the Best Actress category. The award ceremony will be held on April 25th this year.
