The Telangana Congress party which is yet to recover from the humiliating loss in the elections, has got a shock just before the Sankranthi festival. As per the media reports, nearly six MLAs are considering to quit Congress and join TRS party.
Very loyal to Congress, Sabitha Indra Reddy is said to be the front runners among the six MLAs. The others are LB Nagar MLA Sudheer Reddy, Bhadrachalam MLA Podam Veeraiah, Paleru MLA Kandala Upender Reddy, Yellareddy MLA Jajala Surender and Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao.
Not just these MLAs, many leaders within Congress are not happy with the state leadership. They are also alleging that the TPCC is not taking appropriate action to strengthen the party in state.
Telangana PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy who returned from the Europe trip, is informed about this development. He is trying to reach the MLAs whose names are in the headlines. To Uttam’s shock, MLAs have kept their phones switched off and are also staying away from media.
Meanwhile, the Congress Legislature party will meet on January 16th to elect the floor leader in the Assembly. It will be interesting to see who all will turn up for this meeting and who will skip it.
