Running successfully since 1996, one of India's leading media group is none other than Network18 in which Mukesh Ambani's Reliance invested huge in 2012 thus becoming a parent company of channels like News18, CNBC, Colors & MTV. However, while channels like News18 (news) and Colors (entertainment) had their presence in a dozen languages they are struggling to get into Telugu states.
Reports are now coming that ousted TV9 CEO and founding director Ravi Prakash is now in Mumbai, holding talks with Mukesh Ambani's people, to start the Telugu version of Network18. If things work out, then Ravi Prakash will bring News18 Telugu and Colors Telugu into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Already News18 started its Telugu version website and they have hired content writing teams long back in Hyderabad.
Going by Ravi's track record, surely Ambani will not think twice to take him aboard, but the present issue in TV9 has maligned his reputation so bad that they will have to look for a second opinion. And also Ravi Prakash went against BJP through his channel, while the elder Ambani maintains a cordial relationship with the saffron party. Looking into all of this, one has to say that the former TV9 boss has to agree/accept for lots of changes and pressures in case if he wants to run News 18.
On the other hand, Telangana police are actually searching for Ravi in related to the forgery case filed by people from Alanda Media, the senior journalist requested 10 days time through his lawyer for personal attendance before Cyberabad police.
