Telugu heroine won in Amravati constituency

Former Tollywood and Marathi actress Navneet Kaur won over veteran Shiv Sena leader and two-time MP Anandrao Adsul in Amravati constituency.

Navneet is a popular face to the Telugu audience for her roles in movies like Roommates, Maharadhi, Yamadonga (song), Terror and many others. She later got married to Ravi Rana, an independent MLA in Badnera, Amravati city. Currently, she is the only candidate from among the alliance partners of the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) who managed to emerge victorious in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

In 2014, she fought as an NCP candidate but lost by over 1.37 lakh votes. But now, Navneet defeated Adsul by 36,951 votes. "When the entire country was facing a BJP wave, the people of Amravati chose me over others. There was no strategy at all. Our dedication and hard work reached to the heart of people and they elected me," the actress said on her success.

She also told, "I and my husband will remain as an alliance partner of the Congress-NCP alliance".  She assured that she will work for an airport in Amravati and for a direct train to Delhi.
