Jagan's decision to stop the Infra projects worth Rs 50,000 Crore and Irrigation projects like Polavaram with immediate effect has caused a rude shock to the daily-wage workers, labour. As per directions from the CM, the Chief Secretary LV Subramanyam has cancelled the projects awarded before 1st April, 2019 and the ongoing works related to irrigation, R & B works, power purchase works, capital region works have been stalled.
Workers, labour, who have migrated from different states and parts of the country to AP for work, are now jobless. With no other option left, many of them are planning to return to their home towns while a few wants to wait for some more time with a ray of hope of revival of the situation.
Even contractors, who are expecting the payments from the government for the old dues, are in dilemma as they are clueless when the new government will clear their old dues. Engineers are also left idle with the stalling of works. Overall, several left jobless while many others turning lazy with Jagan's move. It's high time, Jagan should take note of the consequences of his decision and speed up the works related to capital and irrigation.
