YS Jagan has made his first visit to Polavaram dam as chief minister. Jagan was accompanied by irrigation minister Anil Kumar Yadav, irrigation officials and contractors. First Jagan did an aerial survey at the project site and then examined the works.
From the reports, CM Jagan expressed his dissatisfaction with the works and their progress. He found fault with the cofferdam which is yet to be completed and added that because of the delay, the financial burden will be heavy. He questioned how the contractor will deal with the monsoon season just in case of flash flood and also asked how much time more will be needed to complete cofferdam and what measures will be taken to protect the cofferdam.
Jagan also got into the technicalities of the project. He spoke extensively with the irrigation officials and contractors. Seems like the officials had answers for few and no answers for a few. This has irked Jagan and directed them to speed up the works and take appropriate measures for the monsoon.
Overall, Jagan made the officials sweat for sometime. For nearly three hours, Jagan inspected the construction works. However, he did not speak to media neither did the YSRCP ministers or leaders.
