In a huge blow to TDP, four Rajya Sabha MPs have decided to leave the party and are likely to join BJP. They are CM Ramesh, Sujana Chowdary, TG Venkatesh and Garikapati Rammohan Rao. TDP has total six Rajya Sabha MPs while two MPs Seetharama Lakshmi and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar will continue their association with TDP.
The four MPs have reportedly talked privately and considered various things about leaving the party. Also the MPs are going to sight technical reasons in case if anyone questions them. The MPs have also written to Rajya Sabha speaker and vice-President Venkaiah Naidu urging them to recognise as a separate group in the Upper House and also allot them separate bench instead of the regular TDP allotted bench.
However, none of the MPs are available to the media to give a clarification but they are doing all what is needed to leave TDP. Meanwhile TDP sources are shocked upon this development and they claim that these Rajya Sabha MPs have acted smart and in the absence of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, they are indulging in silly politics.
This has led to reduce the strength of TDP in Parliament. In Lok Sabha, the cycle party has three MPs and if Rajya Sabha chairman accepts the rebel MPs letter, TDP will be restricted to two.
