A Phone Call From Amit Shah Changes KCR

On many occasions, it is proved that there are no permanent enemies and permanent friends in politics. The latest example to this quotation is the episode of BJP's Amit Shah and Telangana CM KCR. The BJP was adamant in passing the RTI Amendment Bill in the Parliament and it has succeeded with the help of TRS party.

The oppositions parties demanded for a select committee to foresee the RTI Amendment Bill. Initially, TRS party was also with the opposition's side. Before this episode, out of the 240 members, BJP had 119 members support in Rajya Sabha. But the term of six MPs belonging to BJP and its allies have ended on Wednesday. So the BJP was falling short of the majority to get the RTI bill passed. Realizing this, Amit Shah showed his political experience here. He immediately called on Telangana CM KCR and asked his support. Upon negotiating the terms, KCR has accepted to support the bill and promptly sent his MPs in a special flight to New Delhi.

K Keshav who is TRS Parliamentary Party leader and Captain Lakshmikantha Rao met union minister Jitender Singh upon KCR's directions and changed their mind on the bill. They said, we understood the government's perspective and so withdrew themselves from the select committee demand.

With the RTI Amendment Bill getting the Parliament approval, we have to see what demands will KCR put before BJP and Amit Shah in future and how long this sudden friendship will sustain.
