HC Gives 'Reverse' Punch To AP Govt

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has suspended the termination notices issued to Navayuga company by Polavaram Hydal project chief engineer. The Court also found fault in YSRCP government's reverse tendering process and asked the government to put them on hold until the next orders.

Last week Navayuga was issued pre-closure notices by YSRCP government and asked to stop the construction related to headworks and Hydal project. On this Navayuga approached the High Court and after hearing the arguments, the court was not convinced with government's point of view. This is a big blow to the YSRCP government which has alleged huge corruption in the project after a report by experts committee.

Reacting on High Court's ruling, TDP chief Chandrababu said this is a slap on YSRCP government which is unilaterally taking decisions. "I have been saying the same thing. Experiments on Polavaram will lead to delay of the project and reverse tendering will double the budget of the construction. This is madness by YSRCP government," said Chandrababu.
