Botsa Reacts On CBI Notices

Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, Botsa Satyanarayana has said he did not receive the notices from CBI but if he receives he would certainly make it before the CBI.

'I got to know about the CBI notices through the media,' said Botsa and added that he is only the witness in the case.

In the year 2005, Volkswagen scam hit the national headlines when then state government paid Rs 11.67 crore to a fictitious company for setting up the manufacturing unit of the German carmaker in Vizag. With the scam getting exposed, then CM YSR ordered for CBI probe. In the year 2010, CBI filed chargesheet and accused six others in the case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a chargesheet in connection with the same in the year 2015.

Volkswagen then head of Indian operations Helmuth Schuster is also accused of corruption in the case. A special court is handling this case now and on September 12th, it wants to record the statement of Botsa.
