Huzurnagar: TRS ready, Congress in dilema

Just hours after announcing the by-election for Huzurnagar, the ruling TRS party has announced their candidate. TRS is hell bent to win the Huzurnagar seat and so they have officially announced their candidate well in advance. This strategy worked for CM KCR in the 2018 assembly elections.

And the candidate on behalf of 'CAR' is Saidireddy. He contested in 2018 as well but lost to TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy with 7000 votes. CM KCR and KTR did not want a new face for the by-poll as it would have certain impact on the result and so they preferred Saireddy. Also after the defeat in 2018, Saireddy was asked to work on the constituency and he did speed up his visit in the region after the Lok Sabha polls.

Minister Jagadeeshwar Reddy is given the job of by-election and he has already toured Huzurnagar couple of times. From tomorrow Jagadeesh Reddy is likely to be in the constituency till the by-poll gets over.

Meanwhile, there is a severe competition in Congress for the Huzurnagar seat. TPCC chief Uttam had earlier said his wife Padmavati will be given the ticket. But it was opposed by Revanth Reddy and others too are trying their luck from New Delhi. Uttam has the edge with the support of Nalgonda senior leaders like Jana Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

In a day or two, the candidate name will be declared by AICC sources.
