Target Chandrababu: Demolition begins at Karikatta

In a bid to indirectly target TDP chief Chandrababu, the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has begun the demolition drive at Karikatta. For about 29 structures, notices were issued earlier and on Monday they arrived with laborers and first in their list is, Pathuri Guest House and the ramp is being crushed.

The CRDA officials who were present at the spot informed the media that they are carrying on the demolition drive as per the rules. However, the owner Pathuri Venkateswara Rao argued that his ramp is not an illegal construction and just to avoid water getting into his farm land, he built it. In fact, half-acre of his own land went for the construction of ramp and not for residential purpose. Pathuri also claimed that he had submitted his documents to the CRDA officials based on the notices, yet they are demolishing without appropriate reason.

AP minister Botsa Satyanarayana said all the illegal constructions in the riverfront will be demolished and the recent notices served by CRDA were last and thereafter no notices will be issued to any structure.

Botsa added Chandrababu is doing a false campaign against the government with the help of his pro-media. "By staying in an illegal residence, what message is Chandrababu sending to the people. If he feels that his residence is a legal one, he can go to the court," concluded Botsa.
