Nellore Reddy Panchayati: Headache To Jagan

Nellore Reddy Panchayati: Headache To Jagan

There is no denying that Nellore politics is dominated by one particular community. And it is no secret. It is always one Reddy vs another Reddy and one Reddy group vs another Reddy group in Nellore. Groupism has been a problem.

While YSR had dealt with such a problem when there was Congress Party, now Jagan is facing the heat of groupism in YCP. Jagan is upset with the recent developments in Nellore where one Reddy group is targeting other Reddy group and both are leveling allegations against one another.

Amidst this row, the Nellore Reddy Panchayati has reached Jagan's table. Jagan is going to meet Nellore party leaders at his camp office today evening.

What's the issue?

Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sreedhar Reddy and Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy are at loggerheads as both have been fighting for supremacy within party (YCP) and within government. The allegations are rife that Kotamreddy had intimidated MPDO A Sarala and gone to her house on Friday night and threatened the residents.

The power connection and cable TV connections were cut to MPDO's house at the behest of MLA. Allegedly, MLA Kotamreddy had demanded MPDO to issue water connection supply to a real-estate layout belonging to his close aide and warned of dire consequences if it is not done.

As the issue went to court following MPDO's complaint and Kotamreddy Sreedhar Reddy was arrested along with his aide Srikanth Reddy, Sreedhar Reddy accused his political rival and Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy behind this. He openly alleged Kakani for his arrest in a media conference and the issue has brought a lot of bad reputation to party and government.

With this, Jagan is said to be serious on Kotamreddy and Kakani. Jagan is expected to take a serious class to both Reddys and may ask to end the Groupism war in Nellore. The moot question is whether Kakani and Kotamreddy keep their rivalry aside and heed to Jagan's words.
