Watch: Modi Picks Up Waste, Garbage from Beach

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new precedent by picking up waste, litter in Malabalipuram beach. He does plogging (jogging and picking up litter) on the beach. It last for 30 minutes where he had collected a lot of litter in a cover and the waste includes plastic bottles, wrappers. He handed over the collected litter to his hotel staff.

Giving a call to people, he asked them to keep our public places clean. Modi started his day with relaxed walking and exercise. Modi posted the video on his social media page.

He wrote, "Plogging at a beach in Mamallapuram this morning. It lasted for over 30 minutes. Also handed over my 'collection' to Jeyaraj, who is a part of the hotel staff. Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy! Let us also ensure we remain fit and healthy."

Ahead of his one-on-one meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Mahabalipuram, Modi's act is winning hearts of netizens who are heaping praises on PM for his act and inspiring people.

It can be noted that PM had given a call for banning single-use plastic. He has asked the states to ban plastic and thus to save the environment. It can also be noted that Modi is successfully implementing Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Recently, he has been conferred with Goalkeepers Global Goal Award 2019 by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in New York City, United States of America.
