YSR Rythu Bharosa: Jagan Adds 'PM' & Hikes Aid

Succumbing to BJP's pressure, AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has 'renamed' the populist government scheme from 'YSR Rythu Bharosa' to 'YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan Saman Yojana'. This instantly got thumbs up from BJP. Appreciating Jagan for what Chandrababu didn't do, Kanna in a welcome tweet recalled how Modi/Centre is issuing Rs 6000 per every eligible farmer per year in addition to the state's grant i.e Rs 6500.

While the original plan was to provide Rs 12,500 investment aid to farmers, CM Jagan has hiked Rs 1000 and increased the state grant to Rs 7500, thus taking the total aid to Rs 13,500 per farmer per year. With this, 54 lakh AP farmers are going to benefit by leaps and bounds. The scheme has been officially launched by Jagan in Nellore today.

Rhythm Bharosa was the first promise made by Jagan during the announcement of his party's election manifesto. Jagan said the scheme is aimed to bring smiles among the farmers in all 13 districts of the state. Taking potshots at previous TDP government, Jagan said the erstwhile government doesn't have will/heart to benefit farmer community.

The promised Rs 13,500 would be disbursed in three installments. In its first phase, Rs 7,500 would be disbursed in May during Kharif season and Rs 4000 in the second phase i.e in October and Rs 2000 during Sankranthi i.e January. CM Jagan reiterated that every assurance given in manifesto would be implemented. Jagan also announced that the insurance premium for crops would be paid by state government. Jagan also recalled how his government has brought special law to protect tenant farmers.
