TRS MP Openly Supports #RTCStrike, Writes To KCR

CM KCR, who is in no mood to take advice of party senior leaders on RTC strike, has been shocked by TRS senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP D Srinivas act. D Srinivas has wrote a letter to CM KCR on Friday (Nov 8, 2019) asking him to hold talks with the protesting RTC union and resolve the issue.

Addressing CM KCR as the "head of the family", DS has asked KCR to assure 'job security' to RTC workers and thus invite them for the talks to held in a healthy atmosphere. DS further advised KCR to "accept" some "judicious" demands of RTC employees who are on strike. DS noted that the RTC employees strike has been inspired by the Telangana separatehood movement as several other sections of society are supporting the strike. DS urged CM KCR to take initiative to end the "controversy".

Given that DS has been staying away from party activities, his letter to CM KCR is seen as an act of daring and courageous. It needs to be seen how CM KCR would react. It can be noted that earlier the likes of K Keshava Rao and some ministers have tried to resolve the issue, but they reportedly got strong instructions from CM KCR to not "comment" on the issue. Despite such strict instructions from the head of the party and government, DS coming forward in support of striking RTC employees has become a big talking point in TRS circles. This is fueling speculations that DS could quit TRS and join in BJP since his son is presently Nizamabad MP from BJP.
