Madanapalle murder case: Cops arrested suspect of Varshitha

A 5-year-old Varshitha from Chittoor has been brutally molested and killed allegedly by a 25-year-old truck cleaner, Pathan Mohd.Rafi. He is a resident of Angallu village of Kurabalakota Mandal in Andhra.

A few days back, on Nov 7, Varshitha, who went to attend a wedding at a local function hall along with her parents in Angallu village went missing. After filing a complaint and thorough search, the five-year-old was found dead behind the function hall the very next day.

With the assistance of CCTV footage near the function hall, Madanapalle subdivision police have come up with suspect's sketch, later arresting from his native village Molakavaripalle near Angallu. Chittor SP Senthil Kumar told media that the CCTV footage and a few witnesses help has been crucial in finding the suspect.

Rafi's sketch and images were widely circulated on social media and in police stations and under the supervision of Madanapalle DSP Ravi Manoharachari, the cops team could take the man into custody. After investigating, Rafi told police that he sexually assaulted Varshitha and later murdered her. However, it came as a big shock to police after learning that Rafi has earlier committed many sexual crimes on minor girls.

Earlier, he was arrested in connection with a rape case of a five-year-old ten years ago and since Rafi was only 15 years then, he was sent to a juvenile home. Later, he also molested a 12-year-old girl in the village, but no case has been registered. His third victim is Varshitha, who was sexually molested and murdered on November 7.
