I Would Have Never Given Morris Strike- Sanju Samson

Rajasthan Royals lost its first match against Punjab Kings by a slight margin of four runs while chasing a mammoth total of 221 runs. RR needed five runs off the last two balls. Centurion Sanju Samson was on strike. IPL 2021’s expensive buy Chris Morris was on the non-striker’s end. Sanju tried to hit the fifth ball of the over for a boundary but mistimed it. Morris almost ran half of the pitch only to get denied by Samson. As Samson took no run, they needed five off the last ball. Samson hit it high but was caught at the boundary. Many people wondered why Samson denied a single even though Morris has the ability to strike the ball. Both the players have their own versions of this incident.

Last night, Morris’s heroics helped RR to win a tricky chase against Delhi Capitals. In the post-match interview, RR’s captain Sanju Samson was asked about the incident of the last match. He said, “I always sit back and review my game, but if I got that match 100 times, I would never take that single.”

When Morris was asked the same question, he stated that he was going for a double and was ready to sacrifice his wicket because Sanju was hitting the ball so well. He added that he wouldn’t have been so upset if Samson had hit the last ball for a six. Both batsmen are right in their own way and whatever is done is done. They will be forgetting that defeat and taking the positives of their recent win against Delhi.
