After Liquor Shops, Bars In AP To Come Down

AP CM YS Jagan has decided to reduce the bars serving alcohol in the state by forty percent. Jagan held a meeting with Excise department officials and it went on for hours. In the conclusion, Jagan has decided to bring down the number of bars and also the timings of their functioning.

Accordingly the YSRCP government will come up with new Bar Policy which is likely to be effective from January 1st, 2020. This new policy restricts bars to operate from 11 AM to 10 PM. But the five star hotels across the state can function from 11 AM to 11 PM. Also the prices are going to be hiked for selling alcohol in bars.

Initially Jagan proposed to drop the number of bars by fifty percent but the Excise officials said, already the liquor stores are down by twenty percent and in phase wise manner, the bars count can be reduced.

Jagan also asked the Excise officials to crackdown the sale of illegal and smuggled alcohol and pitched for non-bailable warrants against the culprits.
