In a one of its kind initiative to fight corruption, the YSRCP government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. CM YS Jagan and IIM(A) representatives exchanged the MoU on Thursday.

As part of this, IIM(A) will do research in the state till February third week next year and as part of their research, IIM will study about the roots of corruption. How people and officials are indulging in corruption and to what extent is it there in the state? In which department corruption is in higher percentage and how can this be tackled are some of things, IIM will study deeply.

IIM representatives will submit the report to the state government in February and based on this report, the government will take an action. If officials are involved, the YSRCP government is planning to suspend the officials unconditionally and also send them to prison.

According to the government sources, corruption is higher in revenue, registration and police department. So IIM will primly focus on these departments a lot and look into other aspects.
