Breaking: HC gives green signal for privatization of RTC

In a huge blow to the Telangana RTC and protesting employees, the Telangana High Court has squashed all the petitions that were filed against the privatization of routes in the state.

With this, CM KCR would formally announce the private travel operators to take over Telangana roads. Ever since TSRTC went for strike, KCR is looking to privatize all the 5100 routes in the state and in fact he said before the media too.

Based on KCR's media statements, several petitions were filed in the last one month or so. The High Court heard all the arguments on the petitions for long and finally squashed them. Earlier this week, the court questioned the petitioner why can't the government take a call on privatizing routes and it has all the rights to provide better transport for the public.

This verdict will leave RTC JAC with no hopes on TSRTC future and about 50,000 employees are likely to lose their jobs, if KCR invites private operators. CM KCR too waited for the court's verdict and so kept his decision on hold. Now it is just a formality.
