#APCapital row: New headache for govt employees

Post the Andhra Pradesh bifurcation, it's the government employees who suffered the most. The previous government which had come out of Hyderabad, had also asked to employees to relocate. Despite many difficulties, AP government employees shifted their base from Hyderabad to Amaravati. Now with new government planning to shift the capital, there is unrest in the employees.

The employees opine that if the secretariat moves to Vizag, along with it, heads of the departments (HOD) will also shift. For service matters of employees, they will have to travel all the way to Vizag and if the problem doesn't get solved in a day, they will have stay overnight in the city. This will definitely burn their pockets. For employees keeping the travel expenses and accommodation are a bit of worry.

Currently in Amaravati, the situation is normal. Employees are reaching Secretariat and meeting HOD and getting their problems solved in hours and returning back to their office. If at all Vizag becomes the 'Executive Capital' employees will have no option rather than to travel 400 kilometres. From Guntur to Vizag and Kurnool, the transport facility is very limited. Though there are many express trains, it is only the Simhadri Express that eases the travel a bit. But again the train departures in the morning and reaches Vizag in the night which means one whole day will go in travel which is absolutely waste of time.

More than the capital row, government employees are bothered that they union leaders are not opening their mouth against this issue. Employees want the union leaders to do something to prevent government from implementing its plan. If the union leaders step into action, the employees would want to take it to the bottom level.
