'Three Capitals' Bill in Council: TDP MLC resigns

'Three Capitals' Bill in Council: TDP MLC resigns

The opposition TDP is doing all that is needed to stall the passing of 'Three Capitals' bill in the council. In the Legislative council, TDP has 34 MLCs whereas the YSRCP has just 9 MLCs. But ahead of this TDP received a shock as MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad has resigned to his post.

Dokka has reportedly forwarded the resignation to the council speaker. But his resignation has nothing to do with TDP. He added that he is opposing the 'Three Capitals' and thanked Chandrababu for giving an opportunity. Dokka clarified that he will not contest elections again. In the last elections, Dokka contested from Pratthipaadu and lost.

Adding fuel to the fire, one more TDP MLC Shamanthakamani skipped the council citing health issues while another MLC Ratnababu is absent.

Leader of the opposition in council, Yanamala added that the ruling party leaders are trying to reach TDP MLCs and influence them to get the 'Three Capitals' bill passed in the council. TDP has served notices to the council under Rule 71 and demanded for a debate under this rule and then go for a debate on the bill.
