'English Medium' Can't Be Forced: HC

In a surprise the AP High Court expressed its seriousness on the Jagan led AP government's initiative to introduce English medium in all the government schools from the next academic year. "The students should be given enough liberty to select the medium they want to pursue and it can't be forced," said the Court.

Based on a petition filed by an activist name Srinivas, the High court made these comments. The court also cited Supreme Court's previous orders of enforced English medium education. The court also warned that if the government officials ignore the court orders, there would be severe consequences.

Also the High Court has summoned principal secretary of the education department to filed a detailed affidavit in the next hearing.

This is unexpected from the High Court and we have to see how AP government reacts on the court's fresh ruling.
