With Lock-down in the whole country, thousands of youngsters in Telangana decided to head back to their native places in Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, and Bengaluru yesterday in their own vehicles. They were all stopped at the Telangana - AP border as the latter government alleges the violation of lock-down orders by the former state authorities and they will not allow vehicles into the state.
Thousands of students and employees were stranded on the highways at border check-posts in hundreds of vehicles. Just a while back, the Chief Ministers of both the states discussed the situation severity and finally the AP CM Jagan issued orders to allow the stranded vehicles into the state based on health protocol and also declared that no other vehicles from now will not be entertained in a similar manner.
The reports emerge that both the CMs have ordered the authorities to see that students and others who wish to travel will be made to stay in the places where they are now until the COVID-19 lock-down ends. The governments already asked the hostels, PG canteens, and houses to not close in this crisis time.
Sir, so many youngsters from #AndhraPradesh stranded on #Telangana side of border & not being allowed entry into their home state, when they are trying to go home after #lockdown; they say hostels closed; such a big group at border is itself big health risk; #PlHelp @RameshPV2010 pic.twitter.com/H9DMKNrX6Z— Uma Sudhir (@umasudhir) March 25, 2020
