Even before people could come to terms with the 'Las Vegas massacre', another 'gunfire' incident has been reported in US, this time in Texas.
As per reports, a Texas Tech University police officer was fatally shot and killed on Monday night by a student at the Police Department's headquarters.
The University spokesman told media that campus police made a routine student welfare check on Monday evening and, found evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia in a student's room. Officers then took the suspect, identified as Hollis Daniels, a 19-year-old freshman to the police station for standard debriefing.
While at the station, the suspect reportedly pulled out a gun and shot an officer in the head, killing him. He then fled on foot. The University campus in Lubbock was on lockdown for nearly two hours until the suspect was apprehended.
