Cyberabad Police have filed a closure report in the case of Rohith Vemula, a University of Hyderabad student who died by suicide in 2016. They claim Vemula was aware of his non-Scheduled Caste status and feared his true identity would be discovered. The report states no evidence was found that Vemula died by suicide due to harassment for being a Dalit.

A 52-year-old woman spent three days with her 21-year-old daughter's lifeless body in their apartment. Police were alerted by neighbors and removed the daughter's decomposed body.
