Flying internationally from India is set to become more seamless as the mandatory stamping of boarding passes for international departures has been discontinued. Passengers can now present their e boarding passes on mobile phones, while the move is expected to save paper used for over 1.2 lakh boarding passes every day.

The Vijay government has reportedly introduced new restrictions on smartphone use inside 52 major temples across Tamil Nadu. The rules, effective from Tuesday, require devotees carrying phones to deposit them at designated counters for Rs 5 per device. Phones without cameras will reportedly be permitted inside the temples.

An elephant died after reportedly suffering an electric shock near Papireddigaripalle in Chittoor district. A low hanging wire connected to a borewell motor is suspected to have caused the accident. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed concern over the incident and ordered officials to conduct an inquiry. He also directed authorities to take preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.

Prominent art director and TTD Board member Anand Sai’s son Sandeep has reportedly been arrested in connection with a hit and run case in Raidurg. According to media reports, the police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

An IndiGo flight from Goa to Delhi carrying 229 passengers made an emergency landing at Goa’s Manohar International Airport earlier today. Shortly after takeoff, one of the plane's engines suffered a mid-air failure as per preliminary reports. Pilots safely turned the aircraft around and landed back in Goa without any injuries. Alternative flights were arranged for the passengers. An enquiry had been immediately launched.
