US: $3T Heroes Bill Passed, Another Round Of Stimulus Funds

House Democrats passed a $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill on Friday night, although the Republican senates and Donald Trump ruled it outright on its proposal. The bill’s dubbed as the Heroes Act.

This bill is heard to be the largest bill with over 1800 pages defended by the Democrats. It passed with 14 left-wing and centrist Democrats voting against it and a single Republican Rep. Peter King of New York voting in favor.

This new relief bill has a trillion dollars for state and local governments funding, another round of stimulus checks up to $1200, a $200 billion dollars ‘heroes fund’ for medical workers, $175 billion to rent and mortgage aid and $75 billion for virus testing and contact tracing.

The bill also gives a $600 per week federal boost in unemployment insurance payments through the first month of 2021 which is now estimated to run through July this year.

The other items included in the bill are food stamps payment up to $10 billion, $25 billion for Postal service, $3.6 billion for state elections offices and $5.5 billion to expand high-speed internet to libraries and homes.
