What Has Sachin Done To Australia?

October 17th, 2012, 03:56 PM IST

It is known that Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar was conferred Australia Government's highest honour 'Order of Australia' by their Prime Minister Julia Gillard a couple of days back. But it looks Australians are not fine with her decision and here comes the protests.

Actually this award should be given to Australians or someone who worked for the betterment and uplift of Australians. 'Other than pacifying India with this award, such that Australia's exports and business ties with India strengthen, there is no use of this award', an MP Rob Oakshott said. He feels that this is a special honour that will be rarely given to a non-australian, but why Sachin for that? He questions 'What has Sachin done to Australia except playing Cricket?'. 'He is just a cricketer', the MP concluded.

Looks like the issue is getting clumsier!
