YSRCP flays Congress for double standards

June 4th, 2013, 12:00 PM IST

Coming down heavily on Congress government for diluting schemes launched by former Chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the YSR Congress party on Monday said that the ruling party has been displaying its 'opportunism' by maintaining double standards on the issue.

Addressing the press here, party senior leader and MLA  B Karunakar Reddy said the PCC President B Satyanarayana's statement that all YSR schemes implemented in the state  belonged to Congress was an attempt to hijack the welfare schemes as in no other Congress ruled states taken up Aarogaysri, fees reimbursement and Jalayagnam .

On the other hand, Aarogyasri has been heavily run-down, restrictions were imposed on fees reimbursement and Jalayaganam has lost its course in the present Congress governance. YSR Congress believed that the welfare schemes announced by YSR are being defaced and watered down.' We are assuring people that YSR's welfare schemes will be implemented when the YSR party come to power and people are aware that the present government has gone back on the YSR schemes,' he said.

Referring to the TDP allegations that the Chenchalguda jail where the party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy was languishing since year, turned as party office,  he said though YSR family members have been targeted by Congress and TDP, they have sacrificed most of their share in the allotted timings to party workers .

Asserting that YSRCP has no fear of exodus, he said, people from other parties were prepared to join his party as they could sense the mood of the people in the state.
