Yet again, Andhra Pradesh has ranked No. 1 in India in the 'Ease of Doing Business'. For the second row, AP has topped the list among all the other states and UTs in the country. Andhra Pradesh, with a score of 98.42 per cent, stood No.1, followed by Telangana, Haryana, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chhatisgarh, Madhya Prdesh, karnataka and Rajasthan.
For the year 2016, AP and Telangana have jointly topped the 2016 all-India State/Union Terriorty-wise 'Ease of Doing Business' rankings. For the year 2017, AP has beaten Telangana and stood No.1. This is a significant achievement by AP given that the state is formed without a capital city in 2014 and is formed with a deficit budget.
The commerce and industry ministry has released the ranking of states and union territories (UTs) in terms of ease of doing business. State governments are taking several steps such as setting up of single window system for approvals to improve ease of doing business.
The parameters include areas such as construction permit, labour regulation, environmental registration, access to information, land availability, and single window system. Improvement in ease of doing business is expected to attract more investment and better business climate for investors.
In the latest Doing Business report of the World Bank, India's rank improved by a number of notches to 100 among 190 nations.
The government of India wants to be among top 50 countries in the overall ease of doing business rankings, released by the World Bank. Hence, the Commerce and Industry Ministry is releasing the States/Union Territories-wise ranks to develop competition among the States/UTs in order to improve the over-all rank of India among the other countries of world.
