Fees Hike: Telangana Govt Shocks Tollywood!

The Telangana government has shocked the film and Television industries by hiking the fee for the shooting locations. For the shooting permits, the Telangana government has come up with an online portal on December 18th, 2020 and regarding the same G.O number 1976 was issued. This G.O. has been forwarded to the film and television industries and they received a jolt seeing this.

In this G.O., the government has fixed the fee cap on shooting spots and it is Rs 30,000 per day. Earlier the government used to charge a mere Rs 5000 per day. The new G.O. has new fee structure and it also comes up with additional cost too. The new fee is valid for just eight hours in a day and once the given time is over, the government would charge an additional Rs 4000 per hour.

The Telangana government has classified 62 such places for shooting from roads to flyovers to libraries, parks. Seeing the new G.O., the producers expressed their displeasure. They added that our list of requests placed before the state government were something else.

Here details of shooting locations and new fee

This excludes the caution deposit to be made before shooting. Earlier the caution deposit used to be between Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000 and now it is fixed at Rs 40,000.

Reacting to this Telugu Film Chamber Producers Sector Chairman Eluru Surender Reddy said, we have requested the Telangana government to support the dying small films. “We asked the Telangana government to allow small films to shoot from 6 AM to 6 PM and also deserve a matinee show for small films across all the theatres in the state. The government completely ignored our requests and this new fee structure will further push the producers of small films into deep troubles.
