HC Hands Over Dr. Sudhakar’s Case To CBI

Here’s the new twist in the suspended Vizag doctor Sudhakar’s case. In a sensational move, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh has handed over the controversial doctor’s case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The court has made this decision after finding loopholes in the report submitted by the AP government regarding the case.

The High Court also directed the CBI to wrap up the investigation on the Andhra Police and submit the enquiry report within 8 weeks. The court carefully examined the reports submitted by the magistrates and the government respectively.

While the magistrate’s report mentioned injuries on Sudhakar’s body, the government’s report had no mention of the injuries. In a startling development, the court, after the 3-day hearing on the case, has stated that there’s a major conspiracy behind the government’s report.

The High Court’s latest statements gain prominence especially after the Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) recent comments. The IMA said that the Andhra government’s conduct in Doctor Sudhakar’s case is demoralising to the doctors community in the country, especially when the doctors are fighting the Coronavirus as the frontline warriors.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sudhakar’s mother told the media that they have been receiving calls from unidentified government officials who promised them to revoke Sudhakar’s suspension if he remained silent. “But if we step back now, it will be disrespectful to all those who have been a pillar of support to us for the last few days,” she said.
