Ugly Fights, Chaos & Peace: What Happened Inside Chamber Meeting?

The Joint Meeting of Producers, Distributors, and Exhibitors in the Film Chamber witnessed ugly scenes but ended with peace.

Route has been cleared for Peddi as a committee of the three sectors (six each) was formed to look into the issue and give a solution.

Percentage System has been agreed upon but will begin only after Peddi. The Committee will decide the terms and other conditions.

Before that Chamber has seen ugly fights. There was complete chaos as many were shouting and charging at each other.

Asian Suniel lost his cool and threatened ‘Khatam Kartha Thum’. Suniel’s close-aide, Exhibitor Sridhar and Producer Naga Vamsi almost charged at each other.

Chamber President Suresh Babu lost his cool at this behavior and at one stage, everyone thought he may walk away. It was because of Allu Aravind the meeting came in order.

He stood up and said, “Producers have agreed for Percentage System. So, it is not fair for the Exhibitors to say they want immediately. Peddi is a film important to everyone. So, you should also cool down a bit and agree”.

FDC Chairman Dil Raju also intervened and played a crucial role in convincing the Exhibitors to agree for the Committee.

Running Producers insisted only on having active producers in the committee to which C Kalyan, Chadalavada, and Prasanna severely objected.

Supriya, Bapineedu, Mythri Ravi, Cherukuri Sudhakar, SKN, and Prasanna were nominated from the Producers. Both Naga Vamsi and Suniel Narang were avoided in the committee to avoid any conflicts.

It is interesting to note that those spoke to the media, the producers told the Committee will resolve the issue in 1-2 months.

But the Exhibitors claim they were promised a plan in 1-2 weeks but media will be informed that 1-2 months so that there is no impact on the business of Peddi. Whenever the terms are finalized, it is clear that Peddi will be exempted.

The Producers agreed to the committee only after Exhibitors promised to exempt Peddi.
