May is a dry month for the industry as the makers of notable Telugu films shied away from theaters fearing IPL. Suriya‘s Veerabhadrudu came as a surprise as the movie ended up as a Good Success in Telugu despite no publicity or anticipation.
By the end of its second weekend, the Telugu version has collected around 25 Crore Gross in India. The movie is expected to add more given the Bakrid holiday and no prominent releases this week.
Drishyam 3 despite zero promotions, took a decent opening for the noon and matinee shows on the opening day. But the movie‘s disappointing talk means it did not grow much. In the first weekend, the Telugu version has collected around 6.3 Crore Gross in India. The sequel value would have kicked in if the talk is at least decent.
Karuppu has grossed more than 215 Crore Gross Worldwide and may touch the 300 Crore Gross number in its full run. Suriya did not even have a 150 Crore Grosser before this.
Drishyam 3 has registered around 160 Crore Gross Worldwide in its first weekend, majorly contributed by the Malayalam version. It is already a commercial success despite the negative Talk.
