Amid the issue of Percentage System, active producers of the Telugu Film Industry – Mythri Ravi Shankar, Sithara Naga Vamsi, Sahu Garapati, Sudhakar Cherukuri, and Satish Kilaru met Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in Andhra explaining him the issue.
Last time when the Percentage issue came up, it was just before Hari Hara Veeramallu. Pawan Kalyan released a Press Note saying that some people were targeting his film and immediately everything fell in place.
The Producers are hoping Pawan Kalyan would show similar solution this time as well.
Since the Exhibitors met Megastar Chiranjeevi the other day, the active producers stage a show of strength by meeting the Deputy CM.
This is the second such meeting of the Producers with the Deputy CM this term. Interestingly, they did not meet Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu even once in two years.
Interestingly, they met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. That is because the CM announced in the Assembly that there will be no Hikes or Premieres in Telangana after Sandhya Stampede issue.
They did not meet Naidu because they do not have a need to meet the Chief Minister. Because Naidu is not someone who uses Ticket Prices and other Permissions as Bargain Chip like how Jagan Mohan Reddy did previously.
In Chandrababu Naidu Government, everything is on Autopilot Mode. The moment any Producer keeps an application for Hikes or Premieres, the G.O. is issued without any calculations. The industry does not take such Governments seriously.
In fact, the industry should operate without the need of meeting those in Power. But when a Chief Minister is supporting the industry thoroughly, it is minimum courtesy to meet him at least once.
It was supposed to be held last year, but got cancelled at the last minute. Even Kalyan once mentioned that the film industry’s big heads should meet the CM after the elections.
Producers and industry bigwigs should now take the initiative, with Pawan’s support, for a detailed meeting to show courtesy to Chandrababu Naidu in Pawan’s presence, which would create a positive atmosphere for everyone.
