If there is one political party, that is absolutely clueless with the capital aspect of Andhra Pradesh, it would certainly be YSR Congress. After approving Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh in 2015, Jagan change his words in 2019 and came up with this three capitals proposal.
However, this idea of developing three capitals was not just ineffective and incompetent, it became the downfall of the Jagan government. This was followed by another preposterous idea from Jagan to announce MAVIGUN as his proposed capital.
It is evident that Jagan is looking to do everything in this world, but he cannot accept Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The recent idea of the amalgamation area of Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, and giving it the name MAVIGUN is another attempt to shift attention from Amaravati.
However, this narrative that was carried by Jagan, where he said only those who believe in him and MAVIGUN can vote for YCP in 2029 has also backfired. In the early public response collection that was done by media channels, Amaravati, was the overwhelming favourite for the common public.
Now, perhaps, as an after effect, YSR Congress has changed their narrative about Amaravati. This comment came from non other than YV Subba Reddy, who is the main man for Jagan at a functionary level.
Subba Reddy said the proposed MAVIGUN Comes under the capital region, development authority area, which is designated for Amaravati development. He gave the implication that Amaravati is going to be an inclusive part of this MAVIGUN plan of Jagan.
He further tried to cover up the damage done by this proposal by saying that MAVIGUN is not a new idea from Jagan and it was in existence for many years, and in fact, it is a part of the CRDA. If that is the case, then what is the point of floating a new capital idea while Amravati is already bustling? Isn’t it just to hog the limelight from Amaravati?
Subba Reddy followed this with another expected, comment on Amaravati as he said the current NDA government is wasting the finances by investing all the money in one single region. He expectedly spoke about the need for decentralisation again.
After Jagan had failed miserably to develop a single capital between 2019 to 2024, let alone developing three capitals, this new proposal about MAVIGUN and including it in the CRDA region is making little logical sense.
People are commenting that Jagan is making blatantly clear that he is doing everything he can to divert Amaravati and he is ready to set the state’s future at stake for his monopolistic idea.
