It has been a couple of years since the formation of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh and the synchronous movement of the alliance has been rock solid thus far. On the other hand YCP is used to fully recovered from the 2024 humiliation where they got relegated to 11 seats.
The worst part about this for YSR Congress ecosystem is that Jagan has been rarely visible in the public eye after losing the election.
He is stepping out once a week or once every two weeks and confining this to a press meet or a conference with his party cadres. He has not been taking part in any public protest, at least on behalf of his own party till now.
But that is not stopping Jagan from occasionally instructing his party leaders to step out in public and hold events whenever they can.
However, the issue for YSR Congress is that the party is entirely dependent on Jagan and his theatrics. Without him on the ground, it is virtually impossible for YCP to gain any kind of traction at the lower level.
But in a sharp contrast to this, Jagan has been least bothered about any of these developments. In fact, he has not spoken out the Assembly, even once in the last couple of years. He made namesake appearances 2 or 3 times and left within 5 to 10 minutes.
This is now the perfect time for Jagan to at least attend the upcomi Assembly sessions this month and raise his voice against the government about whatever issues he deems fit. Wanting to be the opposition leader, without even attending the assembly session is beyond comprehension, but he doesn’t appear to be grasping this.
Without Jagan’s presence at the ground level and neither in the assembly, YCP has already lost its footing in the last couple of years. And the longer Jagan delay the assembly presence, the worse it gets for the party.
