One of the most reliable technicians in the present era, SS Thaman has evolved as the go-to music composer for Tollywood’s mass entertainers featuring big-ticket actors. He has his platter full with a spate of high-profile projects.
Among his upcoming films are Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming biggie with director Gopichand Malineni and Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka with filmmaker Bobby. While NBK111 is slated for release on Christmas, Kaaka is eyeing the much hyped Sankranthi festival.
Interestingly, Thaman will face a major litmus test within a span of just a few days, with both these highly anticipated films likely to wrap up their shoots around the same time, with only a small gap. This means the raw prints of both biggies could reach him almost simultaneously, leaving him with the challenging task of handling both projects with equal conviction and delivering his best work.
With barely 20 days between the two releases, Thaman has very little room for any ups and downs. Both films belong to massive Tollywood stars with huge fan bases, and even a small difference in the quality of the background score or songs could become a major talking point among fans. This is certainly going to be a crucial test for Thaman.
Interestingly, if we recall last year’s scenario, there was a similar clash between Pawan Kalyan’s OG and Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2. Balakrishna himself confirmed that Thaman had requested more time for Akhanda 2, and he was willing to let his close associate Pawan Kalyan’s OG release without a clash. Despite the delay, Thaman gave his best to Akhanda 2 irrespective of the film’s result. Still scenario is different this time with 20 days gap.
He has already won plaudits from Balayya’s fans with his stellar works for numerous previous films. He even got the funny moniker as Nandamuri Thaman for satisfying cult fans of Balayya by scoring thunderous BGMs and foot tapping tunes.
On the other hand, he promised to come up with his best work for Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka. The teaser promised a high octane action saga and Thaman will need to amp up the intensity with his signature style score.
So, Thaman should make sure not to disappoint audiences in either of these two films. He will be under immense pressure to satisfy both fandoms with his music and BGM. Or else, he will face the heat for sure.
