No Candidate, No MLA: Jagan’s Ultimatum To Inactive YCP Cadre!

Andhra Pradesh is preparing for the upcoming local body election, and it appears that why is Jagan has taken this episode very seriously. He is repeatedly addressing the YCP cadres on this matter, and he held a high-level meeting with them today.

This meeting was again, one way traffic as Jagan delivered a message to his party supporters and did not take any feedback in return from them.

The YCP chief made it very clear that his party must contest every single Corporation, Parishad and Sarpanch seat in the local polls. He relayed this responsibility on the working leadership of the party and was straightforward with the same.

“If any of the local body seat goes uncontested and there’s a unanimous outcome, then you’ll face consequences. I will see to it that any leader who fails to facilitate a candidate at the ground level will not get the MLA ticket in the next election.” Jagan publicly said today.

The honest intention of Jagan might be good enough here, considering that he wants his party to contest every single seat. But the majority of YCP leadership at the ground level has been away from political activity for the last couple of years due to the electoral defeat.

In fact, Jagan himself had been staying in Bengaluru and is coming to AP only on weekly basis. So considering the massive vacuum that has developed, it must be a really tough task for YCP to hold on in the grass root level. But now that Jagan has made it very clear that he will not give MLA tickets if there’s no contention, the party functionaries must be in overdrive mode from now on.
