Rashmika To Play Legendary Singer MS Subbulakshmi

The much-awaited biopic on Bharat Ratna awardee and legendary Carnatic singer MS Subbulakshmi has been in news for a while now. As the film is based on the life of MS Subbulakshmi, one of the most respected names in Indian classical music, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a perfect and flawless film.

While Sai Pallavi was the initial choice to play the iconic singer, she is reportedly no longer part of the film due to her dates issues with her existing commitments. And as per the latest reports, Rashmika Mandanna has been finalized to play legendary MS Subbulakshmi. The makers are expected to officially announce the project on September 16, marking the birth anniversary of MS Subbulakshmi.

There has been considerable speculation about the casting in recent months. Before Rashmika’s name surfaced, reports suggested that Rukmini Vasanth was being considered for the lead role. However, it now looks like the makers have finally zeroed in on Rashmika.

Playing MS Subbulakshmi will be a challenging responsibility for Rashmika. The character demands more than just acting, as the actress will have to bring the legendary singer’s personality, grace and stature to the screen. It will certainly be a tough role for Rashmika, but if she manages to pull it off convincingly, the film could become a landmark project in her career.

The film is being produced by Rockline Venkatesh, Allu Aravind, Bunny Vas and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. More details about the other cast, title and crew are expected to be revealed with the official announcement on September 16.
