Dasara season has begun, and the Navarathri celebrations have taken to the streets. The festival season is also a time for families to come together and witness new releases in theatres. To honor the celebration, two big releases are set for the festival period.
One is a straight Telugu film, and the other is a dubbed film. Both Vijay Deverakonda and Rajinikanth are arriving on screen with Ranabaali and Jailer 2, respectively. We have to see if the two films are enough to double the Dusshera celebrations.
Vijay’s Ranabaali is directed by Rahul Sankrityan, and the team is aggressively promoting it. With Rashmika as the leading lady, the project has enough material to generate curiosity. The film tells the story of a brave warrior’s fight against severe colonial oppression to save his people during one of the most violent periods in Indian history.
So far, the promotional material has given the film a positive vibe, and it’s a must-win for Vijay, who is waiting to make a comeback after many flops. Similarly, Rahul has proven himself as a good director and is looking to climb the ladder.
On the flip side, Jailer 2 is the sequel to the blockbuster Jailer, directed by Nelson. The film’s first part is a big hit in Telugu too, raising expectations for the second part. The presence of star actors like Mohanlal, Shivraj Kumar and Hrithik Roshan brings attention to the film at the pan-India level. The film is loaded with action and Nelson mark comedy which should blend well with Rajini’s style and swag.
Already, both films have drawn a lot of discussions and hype on social media. Vijay Deverakonda directly addressed the targeted hatred toward his film, comparing it to Jailer 2. But, setting this unnecessary noise aside, both films have real scope to excel at the box office. With the right promotion and release, the two films can provide wholesome entertainment for audiences.
