The OTT arena is expanding in India with each passing day. Every streaming platform is making its own strategies and coming up with exclusive content very often to grab the attention of the viewers. Disney+Hotstar has just upped the game and is coming up with probably the most expensive web series of India. Titled The Empire, the trailer of this series dropped just about a while ago.
Sharing the trailer, Disney+Hotstar wrote, “The story of a king battling against enemies, fate, family, death, and even himself, in search of his kingdom. Hotstar Specials The Empire. All episodes streaming from August 27th. Trailer out now.”
The Empire deals with the story of the rise and fall of the Mughal empire, spanning from the generation of Babur to Aurangzeb. The first season deals with the story of Babur and how he made the Mughal Empire the most powerful one in the country.
Kunal Kapoor played the role of Babur while veteran actress Shabana Azmi will be seen as Esan Daulat. Drashti Dhami, Aditya Seal, and Dino Morea essayed the roles of Khanzada Begum, Humayun, and Shaibani Khan respectively.
The visuals look grand and the sets look exquisite. We have never seen a show of such a scale in Indian webspace. Probably, this is going to be the Indian Game of Thrones. Created by Nikkhil Advani, The Empire premieres on August 27. It will be available in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bangla, and Marathi languages.
